The incident took place around 5:45 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department.
Jones said a Jet Ski with two passengers capsized and a canoe of three attempted to rescue the two passengers and ended up capsizing, stranding all five in the water.
A police boat rushed to the area and managed to save all five people, Jones said.
Police said everyone was wearing life jackets when they were rescued.
No one was injured, officials say.
